We are a small but friendly group with one common interest at heart ... painting, sketching and drawing. We range in our styles and ability and our club is about enjoying whatever we do!! New members are always welcome.
About 4 or 5 times a year we have a visiting artist to come and hold all day workshops. These can range from pen and wash, water colour, acrylic, life drawing etc. During the colder months we will stay in the warmth of the village hall but during the summer we will often go out to locations such as Heybridge Basin, Bluebell Wood, painting Alpacas, Beeleigh Abbey, Goldhanger sea wall or an open garden.
Every year we hold an "open" Art Exhibition in September. It runs for a full weekend and takes much planning and hard work. It is always busy, very successful and receives very positive feedback. As an added bonus there are always teas and coffee plus homemade cakes and light snacks too. We have a wonderful raffle, with great prizes donated by local firms and generous members. Every year we seem to get more entries and also more tables with craft items such as ceramics, silk paintings, glass, greetings cards and fabric art.
We meet on the second Thursday of every month in Goldhanger Village Hall. Times are 2pm until 4.30pm. However if its a workshop then its usually from 10.30am till 4.30pm but times will be stated on the Calendar of Events. We have a membership of £12 per year then £2 per session. (prices to be reviewed at AGM 2018). We have tea/coffee and biscuits during our afternoon. When we have an all day workshop we bring a packed lunch though.
